Framing Requirements (wet paint main event)

Bring your easels! We have a very limited supply of display easels and we will not guarantee that your beautiful artwork would have an easel to be displayed on! Again, please bring your easels for display!

All artwork must be framed in a professional manner.

Please use D-Rings and wire on the back of your frame. No clip frames  No sawtooth hangers allowed

Tips for framing: make sure your frame openings fit your supports. If you are using panels, look for a “plein air”  frame when purchasing frames.

Display Easels for  Exhibit

With the risk of redundancy,, please bring your own standing easels for displaying your paintings during the exhibit. These can be your working easels and/or presentation style easels. You can use one standing easel to display 2 paintings if necessary.

Quick Draw paintings may be displayed on flat on tables or on table easels provided by Plein Air at the Arboretum. You may bring your own small table easel to display your painting. Please label your easels with your name and ID number.

Tips for easels :

Inexpensive presentation easels are available on Amazon and office supply stores if needed.

DIY TIP

DISPLAYING TWO PAINTINGS ON ONE DISPLAY EASEL

You can use one easel to display two paintings by placing one painting on the horizontal canvas holder. Using the same horizontal canvas holder as your guide, wire the second painting  to hang from the canvas holder below the top painting.
